Hooks & Spring Connectors
These connectors allow a strap, loop or accessory to be attached and detached. They commonly appear on bags, key accessories, pet products, outdoor goods and hanging assemblies. Compare the opening action and mating part, not only the outline.
Dog clip
Section titled “Dog clip”A hook or clasp body with a movable gate, often with a lower ring. Verify the gate return and whether a swivel is required.
Spring ring
Section titled “Spring ring”A circular ring with a spring or hinged opening. Select it according to the required opening clearance and return action.
Carabiner
Section titled “Carabiner”A D-shaped, triangular or other spring-gate connector. Confirm the load direction and gate clearance.
Key ring
Section titled “Key ring”A thin wire ring, commonly split or closed. Select it according to the attachment method and required ring stiffness.
Choosing a connector
Section titled “Choosing a connector”Choose this family when a part must attach and detach through a hook, ring or spring gate. Check the opening, mating ring or loop, and whether the gate is operated by hand. Typical uses include bag straps, key accessories, pet or outdoor accessories and hanging assemblies.
Easy mix-ups
Section titled “Easy mix-ups”A dog clip or carabiner has a gate. A key ring is a closed loop. A spring ring opens through its sleeve.
